Time slowed as he watched Brendol lunge forward. It's not real, echoed a small voice in his head. How could he be sure? The details of the imposter were immaculate enough to cause doubt. If it was Brendol, his hand would end up on the floor. But if it was just another spirit, maybe attacking it would only cause it to become angrier. Perhaps the ghosts were only here to taunt them in the galaxy's worst version of hide-and-go-seek and if they did nothing, they would leave them alone. But if Brendol's hand went one more inch closer to Armitage's face, Ben wouldn't care either way.
As the image of Brendol shivered into nothing, Ben relaxed his grip on the lightsaber hilt. He breathed out a loud sigh of relief. "Guess the storm has put all of its residents on edge. It's probably just a game to them." His heart was still pounding in his chest. "Even if it is just an illusion, I'd rather not stay in the halls and meet more of them." They'd already encountered two in a matter of minutes. Ben didn't want to think about how many of these ghosts there actually were.
He looked down at Armitage who was shaking so hard it looked like he was shivering from the cold. Ben put both arms around him, easily enveloping his smaller form against his larger one. "Snoke disappeared the same. I thought he was going to take out of my eyes and then he was just gone." He glanced up and down the hall, checking to see if there were any ghosts of their past coming to haunt them. There was one that he wouldn't mind seeing but he didn't think he'd be lucky enough for her to make an appearance.
"I'm alright. I just screamed at a ghost and nearly died of fright but yeah, I'm alright." Ben squeezed him, hoping that a little bit of humor would help. He knew seeing his own father would have shocked him into a panic. For Armitage, it had to have been worse considering the stories "But what about you? I can take you back to your room, if you want. Or you can stay in mine and wait this out for a little while. They'll get tired of scaring the piss out of us eventually."
