For what felt like an eternity, Armitage remained where he was, flattened up against the wall and digging his fingernails into the carpet. He didn't know what to say. He didn't know what to do, other than panic. For the briefest of moments, he wondered if his father really had dropped in like everyone else. He was a guest now, like the rest of them, and Armitage was going to have to figure out how to deal with him being here..
He could sense that Ben had found him, but he couldn't quite tear his attention away from his father. Disbelief and anxiety overpowered everything, until he heard his boyfriend's words. He wasn't real. Thank the stars, Brendol wasn't actually here.
But fuck, he looked real. And that alone was enough to shake Armitage. Snoke had done plenty of physical and emotional damage upon them both, but Brendol's abuse ran just a little deeper and hit a much more personal chord. Armitage finally found the strength to pull himself to his feet, still leaning heavily against the wall.
The movement seemed to spark a reaction out of Brendol. The ghost lashed out at him, causing Armitage to flinch. And, just like with Snoke, Brendol would dissipate before there was any impact, leaving nothing but a cold breeze to ruffle his hair.
When he opened his eyes and realized his father was nowhere to be found, he rushed over to Ben, desperately, desperately trying to get his trembling hands under control. "Shit, what was that about?" Ghosts had always been a normal thing around the hotel, but he had never experienced anything outright malicious before. He glanced over Ben's shoulder, trying to peer back down the hall. "..what about Snoke? Is he gone?" His gaze returned to Ben, adding, "Are you okay?"
