Poe preferred the smiles over the shock - he'd gone a long time feeling a little badly every time that Armitage tried to hide the fact that he'd clearly seen abuse in his lifetime. It was nice to see that regular kindness was doing him some good.
"I dunno, reading you is one thing. Being able to pass items over long distances wouldn't have gotten old, either though," Poe said with a little sniff of a noise. He did miss those Force powers sometimes, even if he was sure he wasn't really cut out for them. "I am, again, not going anywhere," he said, squishing Armitage's fingers in a way that was almost obnoxious before easing up some. The carnival was nearly behind them now and Poe glanced up at the sky like maybe he might find glowing jellies there just because they were mentioned. "I remember. It was an important night." They'd finally stopped pretending they were playing some kind of game that might eventually end.
