His mind often felt like a jigsaw puzzle and the memories he had of the hotel felt like pieces forced to fit over the gaps. Sometimes he got headaches as his brain tried to make sense of both realities. But he had been able to handle it alright. He had to clean up a bloody nose every now and then. Maybe it was because his brain was already so fractured, there wasn't much left to damage.
"Pepper?" He gave her a small smile. It gave him guilt to see that look on her face. The same one he saw on Steve's face. On Natasha. Clint. Hell, even Tony. Bucky had to hope that someday he'd be able to remember everything they needed him to.
Her weapon, or whatever it was, seemed to do the trick against the raptors. The plan sounded solid. Bucky knew he could outrun almost anything but a dinosaur? "You run first. I'll take your tail." Just in case he wasn't faster. At least he could distract them long enough to let Pepper jump through the portal. He inhaled deeply through his nose as he looked down to the raptors watching them from below. "Better do it soon. I don't like the way they're looking at me." Bucky would swear he could see the gears turning in their heads.
