"You're right. We could open the first pirate-heist gym and make ourselves a fortune," Derek said with a grin Jo's way. "It's a helluva lot better than cross-training, that's for damned sure!" He wasn't surprised that Jo had fought alongside him and pulled her weight in every possible way (bar the claws) but he had been impressed. They'd trained together but it was the first time Derek had seen her fully let off the leash and it had been quite the sight. He was grateful for his healing abilities and only hoped Jo didn't feel the whole adventure too much over the coming days.
"You're getting quite the taste for pirate life, huh?" Derek asked with a small chuckle. "What would your pirate name be, if you could choose?" he asked her, curious to know where she'd go with that. "I'm thinking next time we get the chance we should pull a bank robbery or an art heist," he told her with a mischievous twitch of his eyebrows.
"No plans so far, but I heard on the grapevine that one of the portals goes to Candyland," Derek said with a gleam in his eye. "I might have to whisk her back to the witch's cottage for round two, just for old time's sake," he told Jo with a grin. "It's where we first got together," he said with a mildly whimsical smile.
