Nat responded with a quiet hum of pleasure as she returned the light kiss, unable to quite ignore the pull in her heart even at that simple act - or the meaning behind his words. For someone who knew how to weaponize emotions, facing her own had always been more difficult, and John had a way of sneaking past every wall she attempted to put up for her own defense - all of which was tangled up with her reaction to the experiment Tony and Stephen had done. The ghost of that uneasiness was just at the edge of her eyes as she finished gearing up and smiled at him, then followed down the hall.
"So far, one sounds as good as any other," she replied, then stepped in close to him. One hand rested on the handle of her gun, ready to draw it, while the other arm snaked around John so that they could step through together. The moment they started to pass through, her hold tightened almost imperceptibly, not relaxing until they had stepped through...and found themselves standing next to a river that despite appearances, one could tell by smell was nothing but pure chocolate.
"It's...Candyland," Natasha said after a moment, a little bemused by the sheer amount of sugar they were presented with. "From last October."
