Ben had been in the middle of the lobby for awhile now. He'd been staring at the portals, frustrated with their lack of direction. They never landed him in the same place. He'd tested them out several times now. Though they were always the same three places, hopping into the first portal didn't guarantee that he would end up in the place he wanted first. Sure, eventually, he would land where he wanted but it was never immediate.
He didn't know much about magic but he felt this should have been an easy issue to fix. Stark was someone that he trusted, however, and as frustrated as it made Ben to wait, he was confident that the other man would figure out all the problems with the portals. It was just a shame that by solving them, most likely that meant getting rid of them. Ben had gotten used to the portals very quickly. As much as he was grateful for everything in the hotel, it was an emotional relief to be able to leave it. But only for a little while. Ben was still happy to end up back in his bed.
There was only one person who still used that name. Ben turned and watched Finn walk towards him. He jerked his chin towards the portals. "I'm trying to figure them out. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to how they work but I know there is one." Maybe jumping into them again would help answer that annoying question. "Have you been through?"
