"Well, I'm sure you don't attempt to fleece your customers because you understand wanting to entice them back," he said, leaning into Gilmore. He was flushed with success and if he was honest he'd enjoyed showing off for Gilmore's benefit. "Besides, I wouldn't want to ruin you."
They passed several shops, but nothing exciting. He was far more interested in watching Gilmore as he looked into shops and led them through the streets of Tortuga. There were several groups of rough-looking men who glanced their way, but overall they were left alone to go about their business and Theo definitely preferred it that way.
Eventually, they reached a shop, and Gilmore tugged him inside. It was dark, but the smell of old leather was pleasing and Theo was impressed with the craftsmanship when he looked closely at a pair of boots. Then Gilmore made his offer, and he couldn't help the look of pure glee that he gave the other man.
"I hope you don't regret that," he said, reluctantly pulling away from the other man just enough to give him another once-over, taking mental measurements and then comparing to what was on offer. "I have so many ideas of what I want to do to--for you."
