"Then we shall go shopping! It's been quite some time since I actually went shopping myself just for the fun of it, and not to scope out the competition," Gilmore said, relaxing back into the booth. "I don't get the feeling I have to worry about that here." Bits and pieces were fine, none of it compared to what he made. And the portals were only temporary, apparently. He could keep his mind off of business for one day. Especially with such charming company to distract him.
Propping his head up on his hand, he fixed his full attention on Theo, listening to his description of the flying things, eyes widening at the continuation onto wizard transportation. "Tell me more about how you travel," Gilmore said. "Aside from brooms. What are the others things? They sound so much more exciting than what I'm used to."
"You liked winged creatures, hm?" he added, smiling. "There's a lot where I'm from. The pirates are usually on wyvern or griffons or manticores. Those are the most intimidating flying creatures. Aside from dragons, of course. And land pirates are just bandits, my darling. It is dangerous to travel around, yes, but you pick up a lot of skills as you go. I realise I'm not selling my home to you that well." Gilmore sipped his drink, licking his lips. "But I would love to take you with me. Even if it's just temporarily," he amended with a wink. "I would love to show you around."
One drink would be enough, Gilmore told himself. He didn't need to lower his inhibitions anymore, they were low enough as it was. One drink. He wanted Theo to have a good time here.
"Airships-" he'd gotten a little sidetracked with the wizarding travel in Theo's world. "-I don't know how best to describe them. But they carry passengers and goods around in the sky. So I suppose similar to what you non-magical friends use, except it looks like...well, a ship. With a large balloon on top of it. I'll put it on the list of things to perhaps show you should we get the opportunity."
Gilmore leant in then, bringing himself just slightly closer to Theo. "I'd ask you about your magical shops, but I think I'd bore you with all of my questions. We'll save that for another time."
