"To the end of the line," he echoed, a smile tugging at his lips. He could see the emotion on Bucky's face, could hear it in his voice, which caused his own feelings to go haywire. Steve reached down, giving his boyfriend's knee a gentle squeeze. The silent, it's okay. If Bucky wanted to cry, needed to cry, it was okay. No one was going to see him. They were completely alone on that little boat and the last thing Steve wanted was to make Bucky feel like he couldn't show vulnerability around him.
He should have told Bucky that he loved him before now. He wasn't sure what he had been so afraid of. All Steve knew was that he wasn't going to waste the the opportunity any longer. Bucky was probably going to get tired of hearing it, going forward. But Steve had a lot of lost time to make up for and he was hellbent on making Bucky feel as loved as possible.
"Looks like our ride is almost over," he spoke, a hint of disappointment in his tone, "I think I'm ready for that coaster, unless you want to do stay on the boat for one more ride.."
