Steve smiled and Bucky cursed inwardly as his worries started to flutter away. They would hover nearby, always close enough that he could never truly forget them, but that goddamn smile had the power to keep them at bay. If there was anything sinister waiting to pounce on them from behind candy cane trees and chocolate flowers, it couldn't be anything strong enough to take them both anyway. They were on Gumdrop Island, after all. The worst they'd get was a cavity.
The walk through the ice-cream topped mountains didn't take them long. Bucky wasn't in any hurry at all though. Actually, his walk had changed from marching to leisurely in no time at all. Maybe the sugar-flavored air was getting to him or it was the cotton-candy clouds. This world was fascinating. He took it all in, wondering how such a place could exist. "Do you think the grass is edible?" Bucky hadn't tried eating anything yet but it sure looked tempting to try, didn't it?
On the other side, the mountainside dipped into a valley. Below, Bucky could see the familiar red-and-white of a circus tent. If they were hallucinating, at least it was of something fun. From here, he could make out clowns and balloons and-
Bucky grinned. His eyes grew mischevious as he turned to Steve. "I see a ferris wheel." Probably a better sight than the rollercoaster at Coney Island. "How's your stomach?"
