Call him paranoid, but Steve couldn't help but be a tiny bit worried. He had discovered one too many times that things were rarely what they appeared to be on the surface. The colorful view before them was the very definition of 'too good to be true'. A Hansel and Gretel story just waiting to happen. All the same, Steve wasn't worried. If there was anything lurking in those licorice ferns, he was convinced a pair of super soldiers could take it. He was just cautious, that's all.
"This.. doesn't look like any of the places I've been to yet. It's.. possible?" Steve cast a smile in Bucky's direction. "How about we go find out?"
Honestly, Steve wasn't completely sure how the portal thing worked. Stark had explained it, and as always with technology and magic, Steve understood pieces, but he didn't get the whole picture. So, for all he knew, there could have been candy dinosaurs roaming around.
Steve had taken them up a path that wove through the cherry-topped mountain. Within a relatively short amount of time, the path would take them towards a valley.. And in that valley was a carnival? The sounds of the circus rose from the valley, the smell of popcorn now joining the scent of candy. The blonde had to stop, squinting at the sight. This wasn't a hallucination, was it? "Buck.. do you see that?"
