"I know he's not. I just figured.." Steve hesitated, unsure of how to finish that sentence without it delving too deep, too quickly into uncomfortable territory. Because Steve had known Tony long enough to at least be somewhat familiar with his body language. And right now, Tony was definitely avoiding something. It could have been the subject of Parker, it could have been the subject of them. It could have been the portal mess, it could have been all of the above and who knew what else.
Steve didn't expect Tony to just drop all those hard feelings and open up to him. A lot had happened between them. Not just back in their world, but recently, at the hotel. Valentine's Day, Bucky's change into the Winter Soldier. It was a bit to deal with, but Steve was determined to start somewhere. He couldn't unburn the bridge he had torched, but he could at least try to piece together a new one. He shrugged, dropping the topic of Peter.
"Well, I think I'd like one, if you don't mind joining me for a pit stop before we leave." He gave Tony a hopeful look. It wasn't even really about the churro, honestly. He just wanted five minutes alone with him.
