"Why would you wrap a key?" She was genuinely confused. Was it supposed to be a gift? Was it a present? It wasn't presented as one, so much as a convenience and invitation, which she accepted. Feeling the second nudge, she looked up at him to see that grin. The smile looked so good on him, she didn't feel like she'd ever tire of seeing it.
Unfortunately, it was short-lived as the conversation turned. His saying he was tired encouraged her to give him another tight squeeze, even if she knew he wasn't fully being honest with her. If he didn't want to talk about it, she wouldn't force it. She just didn't want him to feel like he had to hide it from her. So Rey left the door open, just in case. Having Ari in her corner made it a little easier as he finally confessed.
Rey had actually forgotten that he'd asked for Leia after mentioning he was dead? "You asked if she was here when you arrived." While she hadn't joined the order, she was powerful and Jedi didn't really die, did they? Shifting in his arms, she reached up to rub her thumb across his cheek. She'd only felt Luke move on, but not fully disappear when they were on Crait. "She was training me before I came here," she said realizing that she'd last seen his mother alive, which was more than what he'd gotten. "She's strong in the force."
