Rey was on the brink of knocking again when the door opened. She didn't know why she was surprised not to see him standing on the other side of it. Maybe she thought he'd just be more excited to see her? Then she was just dragged in enough for the door to shut behind her. Once upon a time, this would have been alarming, but now she trusted him.
Standing in the darkness, she blinked, allowing her eyes to adjust. Ari was in there somewhere, the poor creature shrouded in darkness along with her. She didn't need the light to see him, but hearing him fall back on the bed cemented his location. It wasn't hard to navigate around the furniture and the starbird to where he laid. She sat down beside him on the mattress and reached out, laying a hand on his belly.
"Oh, you're not? Not today? What's the special occasion?" She scritched him as she waited for his answer.
