"There is no right answer," Luke said, and it came out calm, like it was a fact more than it was opinion. He believed it to be so, in any case, and for all the uncertainty and turmoil that Din was projecting, he thought maybe some surety would be helpful. "And there's no rush in deciding. Pick what you feel most comfortable with and reassess later if you think it's not working. What the last you did probably happened just the same. But you don't have to follow in footsteps a different version of you took."
The trail wasn't very long, considering the island wasn't huge, but it was long enough where after a while the hotel was well behind them and they were surrounded only by trees. Maybe it would be more calming than staring into the unknown. "I knew him," Luke said after a moment. "I trained Grogu while they were both here, so we saw each other often enough. I think, near the end, we might have considered each other friends."
