"Then that is a date," Noah said with a gentle smile, enjoying the subtle teasing from Phasma about their current lack of general plans. It was hard to plan anything in this hotel, but they did okay under the circumstances. "You can help me in the kitchen," he suggested, enjoying her presence and company whilst he cooked, "though my mom used to say that we put pastry around things for a reason and that reason is that they shouldn't be seen before eating," Noah told her with a chuckle, "so I'd understand if you didn't want to."
His brow furrowed as Phasma caught the shift in his emotions and he returned her knowing smile. Perhaps it was his career in law enforcement that allowed him to read the emotional responses of people, or may he just got Phasma. He'd like to think it was a combination of the two, but her words settled his mind and the kiss settled his soul. So long as she was okay, so was he.
What came next was entirely unexpected and Noah's face was a picture of confusion. When Phasma pressed his hand to her stomach he frowned, looking up at her for confirmation. Now she'd drawn attention to the tiny swell of her belly he was astounded he'd not noticed it sooner. "I thought I was just feeding you too well," was his train of thought as he processed the information and tried to implant it in some sense of reality.
"It's good news," Noah said with a definitive nod. It was a shock but a good shock. "Wow. We really did this, huh?" he dipped to kiss Phasma, his hand on her cheek. "This is amazing news. I'm not sure I'm ready for this, but we're gonna be awesome," Noah assured her with a smile.
