Jughead wore his lankieness as if it were in the style. And, in Rose’s honest opinion, it was hot. As she watched Jughead, the mischief in her eyes was not kept hidden from him. Rose liked Jughead and that quickly blossomed into a nasty crush. Her thoughts went to Jason and the aftermath of what she had caused. She didn’t spend too much time lingering in the past, Jughead’s voice did a very good job of reeling in her attention.
“Ladies, first,” Rose repeated, rolling her eyes before pivoting around so her back would be facing him. “I’m going first to see if there’s a lake serpent or whatever the fuck. Better it attack me than you first,” her tone was even, talking as if she were serious, but the smirk on her face said otherwise. She paused to look over her shoulder.
Rose crept closer to the water. A light breeze swept through them, making the water gently roll to shore. There was nothing but them, the lake, and the wildlife that lingered around the hotel. It was nice, this feeling. She didn’t have to fight. She didn’t have to run. And that was amazing.
As the water slowly reached her toes, and then her feet. The water wasn’t too cold, but it wasn’t exactly warm either. Audibly, she exhaled while taking steps deeper into the lake.
