Rey's cheeks flushed red almost immediately at the sound of Ciri's concern. This wasn't fair to the other woman to who she should have given her entire attention to. Instead, her brain was doing mental gymnastics about hypothetical situations that were most likely never even going to happen.
"Sorry," the word was murmured quietly as she took a step back and pulled her staff into a resting position. "This isn't fair to you at all. I'm just... I have a lot on my mind." She wasn't anywhere near embarrassed about her situation, so much as feeling awfully disrespectful to her friend. "We can raincheck and just grab a snack instead?" Eating would make her feel better. Maybe. Most likely. Food always helped to lift her spirits in one way or another. If anything, she just wouldn't be hungry which was definitely a plus.
"I'll make it up to you next time. Promise," she said a beat later.
