"I'll make sure it's something disgustingly sweet, so even if it's there but you forget who it came from you'll get some warm and fuzzy feelings," Gilmore laughed. "The pursuit of knowledge can be dangerous. The misuse of knowledge can be dangerous. But that is true of everything. But yes, anything you wanted. And it's not a one time offer. If you find you enjoy being a cat like your animal companion, you can have it...almost whenever you want it. Even I have my limits."
"Darling, if you carry on with this flattery I'm going to find a way to take you home with me," Gilmore said warmly. Flirtatiously. Of course. "You'd be a wonderful asset. To my marketing certainly, but mostly to me," he grinned.
"I'm sure you can squeeze me in somewhere," he replied with a wink. He, after all, didn't really have a busy schedule. Absolutely. No innuendo here.
"It'll be interesting to see if our magic translates at all into each other's abilities. Very interesting," Gilmore said, stroking his beard again. "If it'll be easier to teach you to turn invisible because you're brimming over with magic, or if it'll just not work. Hmm-" he once more looked Theo up and down, partly for his own pleasure but also to admire the little aura that silhouetted him. "A willing student makes it all the easier. And more fun."
The blush in Theo's cheeks was the greatest rewards for his efforts, but Gilmore wasn't going to comment on it. He was a better man than that. "We'll settle for a broom, then. For now. I'll get bored not making things, and you'll appreciate bits and pieces, I'm sure."
Resuming his seat on the bed, Gilmore lounged, his attention still very firmly fixed on his new friend. And he listened with intrigue as Theo told him about the dark wizard and his attempted coup- well, that seemed equally fascinating and frightening. "I'm glad your world is safe," he said softly. "That kind of recovery takes a long time. I've only read about it from the wars of my world, but it's difficult. And you're so very young-" it wasn't that Gilmore was old, but he still felt that kind of pang when he saw his friends going out to try and save the day, they'd all been through so much for people their age. "How long have you been here, now?"
