It was true that Armitage had something of a history of feeling sorry for himself. But normally, it was over something job-related. Failure within the First Order was never taken lightly. And whenever that happened - whenever he did fail - there was much more at stake than just emotions. Everything was a life or death situation within the organization, so it was almost reasonable for Armitage to take defeat to heart. Only, currently, he wasn't entirely sure what he was experiencing defeat over. Maybe it was dread, maybe it was fear. Maybe it was some chaotic combination of all of these. It wasn't the first time he had believed that things were just a little too perfect and that the winds of change were bound to blow. Poe and Rey would be reminded of how careless they were behaving. They'd be reminded that they were currently involved with a terrible person and think twice about said involvement. They wouldn't be wrong. And yes, Armitage very much feared losing them. Normally, when Armitage spent time in the lobby, he read a book and sipped his tea while BB-9E rolled about in the open space. But not today. No, instead he could be found leaned back in his usual spot, sipping whiskey and having a rather serious conversation with his droid. 9E was parked directly in front of Armitage, trying to talk some sense into the mopey ex-General. And whether or not that discussion was going well was.. debatable. |
