Caleb just kept thinking about how nice it was and how he regretted never making use of the bathhouses they'd been to in the past. He supposed it would be different, less nice, if he were alone or if he were with the entire party. But that middle-ground between privacy and company was just the right speed for him. And while he may have recoiled from those soft touches in the past, it was different with Caduceus. He had absolutely no reason to be wary of Caduceus. Everything in him knew that. So the touches came much more easily.
"That doesn't surprise me at all," he replied, shaking his head softly. He took the couple seconds to dunk his head under the water again and then carefully wring it out, the persistent curls springing back to life but with much less chaos and frizz than they usually held. One day he'd figure out how to manage that without just shaving it all off again, but probably not anytime soon.
He wasn't entirely sure what Caduceus had planned when he came back, but he nodded and gave his hand easily. This didn't have the same smell as the soap did, but it was still warm and it seemed to compliment the scent of cinnamon and citrus fairly well. That wasn't what caught his interest, though. It was the warm tingle that radiated through his skin as Caduceus worked his way up his arm. There was a twinge of discomfort in a couple of places - places where Caduceus would be able to feel the crystals implanted under his skin. But his touch was light enough that it didn't bother him. And he was far too distracted by watching the other man's hands work anyhow.
It was more a curiosity, then, when he reached out with his free hand and brushed his fingers along Caduceus' side. He didn't seem to be as thin as he had been when they'd first met, but he was still every bit as lanky as Caleb was. He was soft though, and Caleb was a bit shocked by the texture of the fur under his fingers. He followed the line of Caduceus' ribs upward, wondering if that texture changed in the place is might change on a human - over his stomach, across his chest. His desire for knowledge - especially weird knowledge - was really going to get him into trouble one of these days.
