This was unusual. Of all the things they did and all the places they went, this was up there with the strangest. What perplexed Caduceus more than the word box and the decor of the place was that they had been on their way to the Blooming Grove- he'd been on his way home and ended up here. The thought that something terrible might be happening there that had flung them all into this strange place was at the very least unnerving. At most it was something he didn't want to think about that often.Â
Caleb was here, and for a few moments Caduceus had assumed that everyone else was, too. Hearing that that wasn't the case sent another wave of concern through him, but obediently he waited where he was for his friend to find him. That seemed to be for the best. He hoped that maybe one of the ghosts would pass by.Â
Seeing Caleb running towards him was also a little alarming, and instinctively Caduceus uncrossed his arms from where they had been folded protectively around himself. And with the other man suddenly pressed against him, Caduceus enfolded him into a hug, holding him close. He didn't get to hug Caleb a lot, but it brought with it both the comfort of physical contact, which Caduceus was always in favour of, and the scent of Caleb which he was ever so fond of. Earthy. Constantly a little smoky. He breathed in just as his friend pulled back to look at him.
"Uh- Nico...yeah. You- we were just heading out of Zadash. You don't remember?" More dread settled over Caduceus. Caleb was the smartest person he knew, and if he was losing his memory. "I can...do a greater restoration? I didn't bring anyone else with me." He wasn't one to sound panicked, and even now that the rest of their family was missing his voice remained level. "We can- I can send a message. Tomorrow. We can find them."
