Shirt off, though he didn't sweat, and glasses removed, so Abby's fist wouldn't break another pair, Jinn stood with feet loosely apart, rolling his shoulders as he waited for her next swing. The deep shadows of the evening did not make it any harder to see his opponent as she readied herself. Yet even if he could anticipate her blows, Jinn was still at a disadvantage. Abby moved fast. He dodged, she anticipated him, her knuckles met his side. So it had been for the last fifteen minutes, ever since they had convened in the clearing with time to spare before they were due on patrol. Abby wasn't taciturn by nature, though it was easy to get that impression of her at first glance, but tonight she seemed to be working through something. Quietly. Jinn had resolved to wait her out. And he was going to, but if she kept hitting like that, he might not be able to do it for long. He staggered, grunting, and retaliated by seizing her elbow. He twisted and grappled her. "Is this about Ellie?" he rasped, knowing he wouldn't be able to hold Abby for long before she broke free and made him pay for it. He was looking forward to that. |
