Sam wasn't really paying attention to Gabriel's form as he got up on the counter with him, but he just grinned like an idiot when he was there. He understood how bad this time was for Gabriel, and he wished everything was different, but there was a part of him that was kind of happy that he got to experience this. They would never have done laundry together before, Sam would have never even thought to ask.
And the cuddling was electric - waking up in the middle of the night with him there meant more to him than Sam would ever say. It had been a long, long time since he had felt anything like that, being able to hold someone through the night - well, most of the night anyway - was a comfort and a sense of well being and being wanted that couldn't be filled by the presence of his brother when he'd slept a bed over, or even his son when he slept in his arms, no matter how much beloved them both. It was just something about being like that with a lover that couldn't be replicated.
"Dean's done my laundry forever, and I can't imagine him standing in a river beating clothes against rocks." Sam leaned back against the wall a thoughtful look on his face as the clothes tumbled and spun on either side of them. "What was that like? Being female. I mean, I switched bodies with a 17 year old boy when I was 26, but I was never another gender."
