"So demanding." Erwin chuckled quietly again, amused more than anything else by Levi's attitude about this whole situation. Of everyone, he should have expected this from Levi. And yet, it was endearing all the same. Hange had teased him endlessly about Levi, all behind closed doors, even offering to meddle on his behalf if it came to that, once she'd caught him watching Levi a few moments longer than the casual commander stare he had mastered. Erwin had written it off then, stating military protocol and that was the end of it. Hange had known then, though, and they were rarely wrong.
Levi hadn't even been doing anything impressive to get his attention that time, either. Drinking tea, of all things. Something he did on a near daily basis. It had been after the attack from Annie, a few days later, so Erwin had remained silent on the subject then. Not the time. But now it was.
