Theo hadn't wanted to go out for a walk, but Helios had been annoying about it. The winged horse turned winged cat had gotten more comfortable in his new form, and therefore more insistent about being let out for exercise. Since Helios was still Helios for all he was a cat, that meant that he required Theo's attention while showing off. Which meant he meowed and clawed insistently at Theo's ankles until Theo had sighed and followed his favorite pet outside and into the forest.
Helios wasn't as graceful as a cat yet, but he had gotten the hang of his new proportions and was able to launch himself in the air now. He couldn't yet perform any of the tricks Theo had so patiently trained him to do, but he was getting the hang of gliding well enough. Theo followed along behind, making sure to make the appropriate noises of approval. Helios had always been a vain creature, that much hadn't changed it seemed.
It wasn't the same though. Theo would have preferred to be riding Helios himself, rather than following along on the ground. He missed flying. Not as much as he missed his magic, but more than he thought he would.
He was looking up as he rounded a corner, and therefore didn't notice the young woman on the path. He just managed to jump back as she Disapparated and reappeared, swinging a stick like a sword.
"Apologies. I didn't see you there. I was watching the aerial show, rather than where I was watching." He glanced upwards to where Helios was now perched on a tree branch, looking very pleased with himself at causing mischief. Maybe some of the cat was bleeding into his personality. "I don't think we've met. I'm Theo."
