It wasn't much more complex than toast. The hardest part was hollowing out the zucchini without snapping them in half. Everything else was just dumping things together and keeping an eye on the timer. But she did like having Jinn help her. It was so weirdly normal to be standing there next to him making food, or sitting across from him, talking. But she needed those little bits of normalcy when everything else was so unpredictable. It balanced her out again. Not everything had to be so dramatic all the time. Sometimes two people could just sit, and talk, and eat.
"Well," Audrey said, tipping her head to match his and smirking back at him. "You are kind of old. A few aches and pains come with the territory there. And sleeping in is one of life's most natural luxuries, so should you get the desire to sleep in again, just shoot me a message and I'll come keep you company." There was no worry about the hotel kicking them out at Midnight if she didn't even curl up with him until eight or nine in the morning. In her opinion, that was just getting a good start on the day.
What did Audrey think about her abilities, though? It had been pretty fun beating up on Murphy, and watching her own fairly minor wounds heal almost instantly. The heightened metabolism had its pros and cons. She definitely could have done without being able to hear everything. "I think I'll be okay when they go. I can't really do what I want to do with them, here. But I can see why people would have the inclination towards vigilante justice when this is their normal. It feels like I should be doing more with them than listening in on people's conversations and perfecting my recipes down to the last grain of salt. But the adrenaline is doing weird things to my body and my heart beats just a little too fast sometimes. So I'll be good, when it's done. Until then, I'll figure out ways to make the most of it."
