These chairs weren't the most luxurious things, and as comfortable as they might have been there, it would be far more comfortable upstairs. And more private. It may be inevitable that the other residents of the hotel would learn who J'mon really was, but if they could put that off a little bit longer, all the better for it. At least then they might be able to establish themselves as a helpful presence and avoid some of the fear that often came with seeing a dragon up close and personal.
That was a problem for another day, though.
J'mon held loosely to Eddie's arm as they made their way upstairs. It was somehow closer and more intimate than simply holding his hand. Not only were they closer, but it also allowed J'mon to play up some of that otherworldly elegance. Not that they thought that much about it when they were reaching for a point of contact between them. They simply wanted Eddie to know that they were still present and close. It would be a shame to lose the warmth.
They unlocked the door and pushed it open for Eddie, doing a quick look-around for Jinn. Finding the room empty, they flicked the lock closed behind them and gently dropped their bag on the end of the bed. For a moment, they busied themselves making tea - just water, heated in the teapot with the palm of their hand while Eddie made himself comfortable, then poured over a mixture of dried leaves and herbs.
"Do you have any specific questions," they said, bringing Eddie one of the still-steeping cups. "Or would you like me to begin at the beginning?"
