J'mon had fallen into a fairly simple routine. There weren't any audiences to hold, state affairs to attend to, or negotiations to haggle endlessly over. It was much more how life had been before Ank'harel. Strange but enjoyable with soft lulls of peace in between. The lulls themselves had never been an issue. They had never lacked for something interesting to do and hardly felt the need to fill every second with tasks. It was so much more enjoyable to simply be.
Not that there weren't plenty of surprises here. But J'mon seemed to take everything the hotel had thrown at them with a certain stillness and calm. It was an uncontrollable thing, the hotel. Some saw it as a mystery to be solved, others had figured out ways of bargaining with it, and some were yet at its mercy. J'mon allowed the last with the hope of uncovering parts of the first. And they were in no rush to discover some grand secret of the hotel's ministrations. They had the assurance that Ank'harel was running safely and they could simply enjoy whatever this adventure had for them.
Which brought them around to more recent events. J'mon smiled softly and looked down at the blank book in front of them, ink still drying on the right-side page. They were about to dip their pen again when they heard a familiar voice, lifted their gaze, and directed their smile at Eddie. "Hello, darling," they said and laid their pen back down again to turn their attention more fully towards him. "You are quite a welcome surprise. Have you come to keep me company?"
