She'd been waiting to hear his voice, even as she found herself getting colder, but it didn't stop her from being slightly startled at the sound of it. Daphne jolted a bit, but still held onto her concentration. She was going to have to try to do this with other things around. Maybe have Willie tell her some sort of story and attempt to juggle the two things at the same time? Or she could try this in a more active environment, with the consent of those in attendance, obviously.
For now, she was just barely holding on before finally processing Stephen's words. She'd managed to get it down enough to see her breath, so she could try to bring the heat up again. She didn't want to get too hot, so she was attempting to do so slowly. Last thing she needed was to set the sanctum on fire. She shook out her hands and flexed her fingers attempting to work the warmth back into them. The cold was actually starting to sink in.
The only issue was she didn't get that far before she lost it again it. So many thoughts and possibilities started flooding her mind and now she'd have to try and fix her mistake under the discomfort of cold. Well, she was going to have to do that outside anyway, wasn't she? Then again, she'd be dressed for the weather instead of looking like she was ready to run outside in the middle of summer.
"Let me just..." She reached out again. Now that she knew what she was looking for, it was easier than the first two times, but not nearly as fluid as she would like. Necessity had sped up her familiarity with the shield, but there was no need to do this. It was not only more difficult, but she would actually have to discipline herself in practice to make it work.
"First of all. This is awesome," she said doing the hand gesture again. She was going to attempt to push her concentration a little bit on this by testing conversation. "Just going to try and bring this back up to something comfortable, hopefully not balmy with the moisture." Ice would melt and she didn't want to damage anything with humidity or the like.
