Stephen curiously cocked his head to the side, looking at the gemstone necklaces. Since they were given to Daphne by the hotel, he couldn't help but be mildly wary. Some of the 'gifts' that mysteriously appeared in their rooms were exactly what they appeared to be on the surface. Others were not..
Regardless, Stephen didn't immediately sense anything off about them. So he carefully took them from her hand, holding them up in the light to take a better look. "Ah, my shadow?" Strange questioned, his focus never leaving the necklaces, "No, it seems I'm one of the hotel's many singled-out targets. It's been acting weird for a few days now. But that's all it does, sort of move on it's own. It's distracting, isn't it? Can't seem to make it stop."
Not that he'd put too much effort into it. As everything with the hotel, it would eventually go away on it's own, so he wasn't overly worried about it.
The gems began to glow as Stephen cast a spell upon them. Having a protection charm may not have been the same as being able to wield actual protective magic, but it did help ward off curses and harmful spirits. Enchanting the necklaces would only take a moment, and once Stephen was done, he'd hand them back to Daphne. "Soon, you'll be able to do this on your own. It's.. slightly more advanced than a temperature regulating spell.." The sorcerer arched a brow, adding, "You seem very eager to learn that one in particular. Why are you so interested in being able to change a specified area's temperature?"
