Back in his own reality, what Stephen was doing would have been considered reckless. He had already put power into Daphne's hands and now, he intended on adding to it. But there were a few things to consider here. Thus far, Daphne had shown that she could handle it. She wasn't irresponsible with what she had been given and had displayed potential for so much more.
And the guests around the hotel needed more defense. The past month had more than proved that. The hotel likely wasn't going to give them a break anytime soon and - heaven forbid - if Strange ever got sent back to his realm permanently, he wanted to know that he could rely on more than just Loki and the few remaining Avengers to keep people safe.
A ring of gold sparks formed in the corner of the room and Strange stepped through, apologizing for being late. Beneath him, on the floor, his shadow continued to misbehave. It was in the wrong spot and obviously moved before he did. At this point, Strange was more than just a tiny bit annoyed by it. At the same time, he had chosen to ignore it. His shadow wasn't harming anything. It was just being a pest.
"How are you feeling, Daphne?" Which was more than just a surface-level pleasantly. Daphne's state of mind was important, and if she was distracted - either in a good way or a bad way - he wanted to know about it. "Would you like to start with discussing protection charms? Or shall we dive right into spells?"
