Who: Ellie & Dina What: Just two girls trying to work things out Where: Ellie's room When: Tuesday 16/2 Status: Ongoing Warnings: None?
Ellie still didn’t have anything much in her room, so tidying it in preparation for Dina to arrive was as simple as kicking the stuff she’d worn to bed the night before under it, stuff her songwriting notebook under her pillow, and then nervously pacing until Dina got there. In her mind she thought maybe it might be a good idea to practice what she was going to say, but she knew it was pointless. Words were going to fall out of her face no matter what, as soon as she laid her eyes on Dina, assuming that she didn’t just fall into her arms and cry. Which was a distinct possibility--just one she was trying to avoid. Because they were going to talk. Like adults. Yeah.
When she heard the knock at the door, she took a deep breath, smoothed her hair, and pulled it open, trying (and failing) to make eye contact. Why was this so goddamn hard? She loved Dina. But she felt so terribly, helplessly fucking afraid of Dina, who, whether she realized it or not, held all the power in this situation right now. “Uh hi, come in. I’d offer you a drink but I don’t have any. Please have a seat. Uh, sit down. Do you want to go first? With the talking? Or should I? It’s...it’s good to see you. You look good.” Stupid mouth. Stupid brain. Shut up, Ellie.
