Audrey had always been pretty confident in this part. It was everything leading up to it that made her feel like she was going to vibrate right out of her skin. Smalltalk. Flirting. Trying to suss out if someone else liked her. But once she had the go-ahead to move then she was pretty solid. Some of it might have been a little bit of "fake it 'til you make it" confidence but it worked all the same. And she was a whole lot more confident with girls than she was with guys. She had more experience. She knew she was better at certain things. No reason to panic.
"Joey's off somewhere," Audrey said, tugging Abigail inside the room and closing the door behind her. She knew where Joey was but he probably didn't need everyone in the hotel knowing his business so she left it vague. Easier that way.
The beds were both neat and Audrey had even tidied up the dresser at some point during the day when she was going stir-crazy from all the raging hormones around. There were a few stuffed animals on the beds and a leather jacket slung over the back of the chair. She and Joey had also replaced the hotel bedding, curtains, and rugs. It was a hodge-podge mix of colors, but it was easy to tell what Audrey's stuff was. It had a distinct black-and-red motif with just a splash of purple here and there.
"Make yourself comfortable," she said. "The bed with the rose duvet is mine."
