For a long time, Hux didn't move. He'd been awake for roughly half an hour at that point, simply holding the sleeping pilot in his arms. The bright sunlight was pouring in through the window, bathing Poe's bare skin in a warm glow. He'd let another thirty minutes tick by, if need be, because he wasn't budging until his boyfriend did. The night before, Hux had led Poe out to the little inn in town. After everything that had happened weeks prior, Hux believed them to be long overdue for an evening alone. Not that they hadn't received any time by themselves. There had been visits, of course. But Hux was aiming for more than just ten minutes of peace with his pilot. And sure enough, just as he'd hoped, he hadn't woken up alone that morning. No nightmares, no cold, empty bed. Just body heat and the sound of Poe breathing. Well. And the sound of the small town busting outside, but it wasn't late enough in the day for that to become too loud or bothersome just yet. The room was small. Not terribly decorated or overly furnished. But there was a fireplace and a bed. Not a very comfortable bed. But it was one that had given him what he wanted, so Hux wouldn't complain. His fingers had begun to make their way down Poe's back, lightly drawing lines over his shoulder blades, happily, patiently waiting for his lover to wake. |
