"I..yeah, I guess." Eddie did laugh, not really out of humor but because it sounded a little crazy when it was put so succinctly.
He held the glass out for the refill, watching the liquor splash into it. He thought quietly for a minute. He didn't really know what to think of that, to know he'd been able to actually heal Jinn, through something as simple as what he'd done. It hadn't felt like much, at least.
He knew that debts meant something to Jinn, more than they did to most people, but he wasn't sure it was something he wanted between them. "You don't." he met Jinn's eyes again, "You didn't ask. You were only hurt in the first place because you were trying to help me. And I consider you a friend." He leaned on to the table a little, resting on his elbows, both hands around his glass. "It doesn't have to be a back and forth of debts. I don't think that's how friendship is meant to work."
He sipped his drink, "Cause if it is, Richie owes me a shit ton." He laughed again, some humor in it this time.
