Eddie met Jinn's eyes, what he could see of them, when he felt Jinn's gaze on him so strongly. He wanted to disagree, to fight that he could have been more careful not to get stuck in some building he couldn't get out of. Or that Jinn was as much deserving of sympathy as anyone. But the next words caught him by surprise.
He'd assumed that what he'd done had been, not pointless, but that it hadn't done anything but soothe Eddie's own guilt and worry. "I..." a slight flush might have tinted his cheeks then, as he looked back at his glass. He'd blame it on the liquor if anyone asked. The furrow deepened between his brows. "I didn't think it'd worked." He admit. "I honestly didn't really know what I was doing."
"You really heard me?" He looked up again, unsure what it meant. Jinn was surprised by it, so it wasn't something normal for him. But then why had it worked?
