Donny stretched out, her legs curled under her on the plush cushioned chair she'd found herself in. Mitch sat opposite and both sipped expensive liquor from even more expensive glasses in companionable silence. She wondered if she had been the only person in the hotel who'd enjoyed the thrill of staying alive in the bug-infested country. It had been fun, her and Mitch fighting back to back once more, each responsible for the other's life. Donny realised it wasn't entirely 'normal', but she also knew it was what made them good at their job. If they didn't enjoy the adrenaline-filled moments they wouldn't be able to contrast them so well with times like this. She stretched out her hand and slipped it into Mitch's. "It was good, wasn't it?" she said with a cat-like smile. "It's nice to know that we haven't lost our touch." The two had kept up their practice, but you could only shoot out so many targets and spar a partner before your skills started loosing their edge. Donny had needed to feel the fear, so that she could fight at her peak. "Probably best not to tell anyone else I had fun, huh?" she said with a look of amusement. |
