Clarke grasped her young daughter's hand and ran from the giant insect that was chasing them. What the hell was going on this time? Hadn't this hotel thrown enough at them? Things had been somewhat calm for a while, so she shoudldn't be surprised, yet she was. Mostly because she'd been so lost in the pain she'd felt and been fighting against since Lexa disappeared again. Along with all of their people. It was just her and Madi now. Octavia was around still, but Clarke hadn't talked to her in a long time now.
Up ahead, Clarke saw a small cave. It looked like the entrance was big enough for the two of them to fit inside, but not quite big enough for the beetle. It was the best she could do right now.
"Look!" She pointed with her free hand towards the cave. "There's a cave. We're going to try to make it there. That should keep us safe until we can figure out what the hell's going on around here."
The bug was so close on their heels, so Clarke paused long enough to scoop Madi up and run as fast as she could towards the cave entrance. The beetle's oversized mandibles were inches away from making the two of them its dinner when Clarke hit the dirt, sliding into the entrance of the cave and out of its reach.
