It had been too quiet around the hotel lately. Too calm. That should have told Clarke that something major was going to happen. She might have noticed it too, or at least had her guard up, ready for whatever this place threw at them next. But, since Lexa had disappeared, she'd been off. It had been a month, but losing the love of her life again had Clarke off her game. She tried to stay strong for Madi, but the truth was, Clarke was struggling. She was trying and every day got a little better, but it had been hard enough losing Lexa once, let alone getting her back only to lose her again. But she would be okay. She had to be. For Madi.
Clarke had slept in later than usual this morning and when she'd woken up, Madi wasn't in the room. It was likely she'd gone ahead down to get breakfast, so Clarke decided to take a shower and get dressed before she went down to join her.
The hotel, however, had different plans in mind.
She'd just finished getting dressed and putting her shoes on when suddenly, she was no longer in the hotel room. Instead, she was outside. Great. Another event where the hotel decided to kick them out and let them fend for themselves. What she didn't know was what they would have to face out here. And as she looked around, she realized this wasn't the usual scenery outside the hotel. This was something and somewhere else entirely.
Oh God. Madi.
"Madi?" Clarke called out, looking around for her daughter. "Madi, where are you?" Her panic level was rising, but she was trying not to freak out. She had to find Madi. That was the priority.
The ground started to shake and Clarke's blue eyes widened. What the hell was that?
Instead of running in the opposite direction, like most people would, Clarke ran towards the sound. She had to. Madi was out there and she could be in danger.
"Madi?!" Clarke screamed louder as she ran towards whatever was causing the ground to shake like that. As she ran through the trees, she looked just up ahead of where she was and, by some luck, she caught sight of her young daughter running towards her. Talk about a mother's instinct. That had to be what led her here, right?
"Madi!" The cry of the young girl's name was louder still, but the relief was there. At least, it was, until Clarke saw the source of the sound and realized the very giant bug was chasing Madi. "This way, come on!" She grabbed her daughter's hand and started pulling her in the opposite direction. There had to be somewhere to hide. She wasn't losing her daughter too.
