Ava was a fairly light sleeper. Being alert had been part of her survival for so long. But the hotel tended to be loud and chaotic, and so over the months she had managed to train herself to ignore most noises. The thump had come from inside the room itself, but she easily dismissed it as whatever Gwen was up to and was on the edge of drifting back to sleep when... there was a warm body next to her.
Which would have felt strange, except she was familiar enough with the feeling of Miguel's lips against her own to immediately identify him, even as groggy as she was. Eyes still stubbornly closed against the morning light, she felt around her bed to identify the stuffed dinosaur, and confirmed that indeed yes, this was her room. She couldn't recall doing anything weird or drinking too much last night that would end her up elsewhere, and the few times she had fallen asleep outside of her own room she had wound up right in her own bed anyway. Which could mean only one thing, to her sleep-addled mind.
"How'd you get in here?" she murmured with a fond smile, finally peering at Miguel sleepily.
