I know. There's a group of people back home called the Alchemists that find vampires of any degree 'evil creatures of the night'.
But with all due respect, I think if you actually had to see a Strigoi up close, you'd see that they are a threat. I have, and it's something I'd really rather not experience again. I've almost lost three of my best friends to them, as well.
When I was still attending St. Vladimir's Academy, our wards around the school were weakened and it allowed a whole horde of these Strigoi to come in and lay waste to our friends and family. We lost so many people. It was horrible, and I still remember seeing all those bodies scattered around campus. I helped heal some of our wounded.
Whoever they didn't kill right away, they captured and dragged off to their cave in the forest near the school. Those people they took were fed off against their will, and not everybody made it out of there, alive. I've only ever been able to restore one Strigoi in my life to their previous self, and that was my friend Dimitri. He remembers everything, and I can't begin to tell you how much he regrets everything he did when he was that way. He was in absolute despair for months after I turned him back to a dhampir.
It took him a long time to forgive himself and see the beauty in life, again. Being a Strigoi is not something I would wish on my worst enemy. It's a fate worse than death.
