What: On patrol
Status: Closed, in progress

With so many of the hotel's residents gone, Jinn had grown to welcome the watch. It gave him something to do, at night when weeding and tinkering in the graveyard became impossible. It also seemed to reassure others, who felt that the hotel needed watching. Being useful had never mattered to Jinn before, but he was learning all sorts of things about himself since his arrival, now so many months old. For one thing, he enjoyed predictability. Routine. He was content when the hotel and its grounds appeared 'normal' — for a haunted hotel and occasionally creepy grounds, that is — as indeed they had been during his first midnight-to-6-AM patrol with Abby. Now, as he looked at the facade of two large squarish buildings rising before him, it was obvious that reprieve had ended. "Mall of America," he read out loud, from the large star-bedecked sign above the entrance. "Hm. And I was told we are in Scotland." He glanced at Abby beside him. "Do you wish to visit?" The unspoken alternative was pretending that the giant concrete behemoth simply wasn't there and pursuing their usual route. The mall probably wasn't filled with flesh-eating beasts or nightmarish creatures. It likely wouldn't devour the next two watch-persons when they undertook their patrol. Possibly. Maybe. |
