It made a sort of sense that he'd not heard of the Speakers - no roving band of magic users (except perhaps the Dalish?) would last long enough to have generations to pass knowledge between if they broadcast their presence to all and sundry - but her ignorance, both (apparently) of who he was and of the existence of Antiva (okay, mostly the second thing), made notably less, especially if they were scholars of history.
