The pros seemed like they outweighed the cons so far as Stanley could tell. Pain was never fun, but if it cured Killian of something that was was slowly killing him or worse... it didn't seem like pain should be a deal breaker.
Unless, of course, Killian had reservations about giving up that magic and everything that came with it.
