"Yes, younger." Which was also true and raised less questions but Alex was sure that Charles was going to figure out there was something else he wasn't saying at that point.
"Oh..." Alex remembered that. It was part of the reason he still wasn't overly fond of being on a beach without a damn good reason and that he was certain that there wasn't anyone else around or that any missiles could be being pointed towards him. So they'd stopped them, sure, but it didn't stop him having annoying flashbacks to that happening and it made things uncomfortable.
"What was happening on the beach?" That would at least give Alex a clue where to pick up from. He did briefly wonder if he should even be telling Charles about the things that were going to happen. But then what would it do? He needed someone to know, to share it all with.
He smiled. "Probably more than one, but we've got to start somewhere." In a way it hurt already, he could just let Charles in and he could see what had happened, but there were things that Charles didn't need to know. Things that Alex wanted to keep to himself. Both the good and the bad with that.
He made a face. "I didn't mean to just... what I said before. I didn't mean to just dump it on you."
