She knew her children, Lucifer especially. Of course, she'd like to claim she didn't have favorites, but they all knew that wasn't true. So when he'd asked her to this family meeting, she'd had some idea of his intentions. But she did love both of her sons, and all she'd wanted for a very long time was for her and her children to be a family again. Seeing them fight like this, even knowing they'd never really gotten along, it broke her heart.
But she was still their mother. And if they wanted to push her, she was stronger than either of them. One of the benefits of being a Goddess.
"You could be a little less hostile, Lucifer." It was a quiet reprimand, half-hearted. "Even I tried to get rid of your detective."
She glanced toward where Michael sat. "And I'm sure Michael can be less...difficult." Maybe if they could at least work out some sort of truce.
