As Ava predicted, the mention of the 'birds and the bees talk' did puzzle Din. However, he could make a solid guess as to what it was alluding to. As for her question over Din's own past love life, he'd give her an indecisive shrug. "Honestly, if I'm being fair, I think I hurt her as much as she hurt me. She and I.. We were on a team together. I was.. ah, rebellious back then. I didn't think things through like I should have. She was reckless and exiting and at the time, that sort of thing appealed to me. I liked her, trusted her, thought I was in love with her. But in return, she used me quite a bit. I ended up having a falling out with the team and left, breaking up with her in the process. I saw her somewhat recently, before I came here. She.. she still has some bitter feelings over the whole ordeal. But Miguel.. He'd never take advantage of you like Xi'an did with me."
The entire excursion, Xi'an acted as though she had been on the fence as to whether she wanted to kiss Din or kill him. And truly, their entire relationship had been that way. And while that had kept things interesting, it hadn't been healthy, either.
Once inside, Din helped Ava round up all the items necessary for their craft project: hot glue guns, glitter, and anything else they could find to decorate their pinecones. They had taken over a corner of the lobby, spreading out their supplies upon one of the coffee tables. If only his fellow Mandalorians could see him now: ruthless bounty hunter to holiday wreath maker. Not that Mando minded. He did have a soft side, and taking care of the kid had only made that soft side bigger. He leaned back on the couch, letting Ava begin so that he could observe and replicate her work.
"You're right, though; what you said about this place being as close to normal as some of us will get. I still have nightmares and I'm sure you do, too. And then you wake up and you're in this quiet hotel. It's difficult to rewire your brain and tell yourself that it's okay to relax."
