The past two weeks had been so utterly bizarre, Din wasn't entirely sure that every bit of it had been real. Between Dean getting killed and resurrected and a bunch of prehistoric Earth creatures in captivity appearing outside the hotel, Din couldn't determine which was stranger. Despite all the things that kept the Mandalorian awake at night, there was finally a beacon of light in his run of bad fortune: the kid had appeared. And thankfully, in another strike of good luck, Dean had been the one to find him. Din was still bitter about not receiving his armor. He didn't particularly enjoy being kept at the hotel against his will, even if it's inhabitants were shockingly pleasant to be around. However, now that the child was back in his care, everything seemed a little less hectic. For now, at least. Monday morning, Din had sent Ava a message: Come to the park entrance. He left it at that. No explanation, no details. He hadn't been mysterious on purpose. He was just a man of few words. While Din waited for his friend's arrival, he'd let the kid roam around. They must have been quite the sight, the two of them: Din in his Mandalorian helmet that Ronan had graciously (and mysteriously) gifted him, but wearing the hotel-given clothes, watching what appeared to be an animated toy chasing insects in the tall grass. Anyone walking by might have mistaken them as some form of entertainment. Or at the very least, found the ill-placed helmet to be an odd fashion statement.. |
